This past week I bought a few apple scented tarts and lit them upstairs. I headed downstairs to grab some dirty laundry and as I was running back up the smell was divine. Despite the hot weather outside, it felt like fall indoors. If you caught my fall home tour last week, you might have seen my simple elegant burlap fall wreath. This wreath was super simple and I whipped it up in minutes!
I am going to give you a quick rundown on the supplies you need and how to make your own fall wreath.
Supplies for Simple Elegant Burlap Fall Wreath
- White styrofoam wreath form
- 1 roll of burlap (I used bleached burlap 6 inches wide)
- Pumpkin wreath picks
- Gold Acrylic Paint
- Paintbrush
- Ribbon
- Bouquet of fake flowers
- Hot glue gun
- Chipboard tag
- Old book page or printable book page
- Mod Podge
- Craft knife
Simple Elegant Burlap Fall Wreath Instructions:
Step 1: Secure the edge of the burlap to the back of the white wreath form with a few dabs of hot glue and wrap the entire wreath. Cut the burlap and use more hot glue to secure the end to the back of the wreath. I use a white wreath form so that the green color doesn’t show through the burlap.
Step 2: Use Mod Podge to decoupage an old bookpage to a chipboard shape and once dried use a craft knife to trim the edges.
Step 3: Get out the gold paint and paint ‘Happy Fall’ onto the chipboard tag and paint one of the pumpkins.
Step 4: Use a glue gun to secure the pumpkins, fake flowers and tag to the wreath form.
Step 5: Tie a ribbon onto the chipboard tag and another long piece of ribbon around the wreath to hang it from.
See I told you it was a simple wreath! You can change up the colors to go along with your own personal style or change the fall colors to black and orange for a Halloween wreath. I wanted to hang my wreath on the front door so I gave the chipboard tag a good coating of Mod Podge to help product it from the outdoor moisture. Now bring on the Pumpkin Spice and everything NICE!
