This laser design is a fun cheer pennant flag SVG. You can remove the wording and replace it with any word of your choice. I included a hole in the design to put a keyring through for a fun bag charm or keychain.
I created this design with the idea of using two acrylic colors and paint filling the engraved wording. I have photos of how my cheer keychain turned out below using teal and pink acrylics from Custom Made Better.
This pennant flag shape can be cut from acrylic, leather, wood or another material of your choice.
These can be customized using team colors for a fun cheer team gift.
How to Make the Pennant Keychain
- Start by downloading the .ZIP file from the pink button at the bottom of this post.
- Import the design into your laser machine software (I import SVG files into lightburn for my BOSS laser, but SVG files also open in Glowforge)
- Double check that the design is the correct size. I created it to be 3.25″ wide.
- Cut the bottom piece of acrylic which includes the engraved text.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the second color of acrylic which will be layered on top of the first, then cut it out.
- Paint fill the engraved ‘cheer’ and allow the paint to dry.
- Once the paint is dry remove the protective paper.
- Peel the adhesive and firmly press the top layer onto the bottom.
After cutting this one I realized the spot for the keyring needed to be a little thicker, so I fixed that before sharing the download below.
To paint fill I used white acrylic paint and a paintbrush. I usually do two coats of paint, letting it dry between layers. Once the second layer is dry peel the protective film off and if needed, clean with a microfiber rag.
The exact acrylic colors are Caribbean Sea and Neon Pink.

What type of materials would you use to make keychains with a laser machine?
I use 1/8″ or 3mm thick materials for keychains. If you are layering colors you could even use 1/16″ acrylics.
Where do you purchase your laser materials from?
The three places I order my acrylic from are Houston Acrylic, Custom Made Better and the shop MODFYbuild on ETSY. I’ve been ordering from all three of these places for almost 5 years. All of them ship quickly and I’ve never had ANY issues.
Where do you purchase the hardware for keychains?
I purchase from local craft stores or Amazon. Since I love a good gold key ring, I usually purchase the lobster clasp keychains or flat gold key rings.
