Vintage Keychain SVG - Laser Design

This laser design is a vintage keychain SVG. You can remove the wording and replace it with any wording of your choice. I recall my grandpa having keychains in this shape, which inspired me to make a laser design for them. Let’s bring back the nostalgia.

I have photos of how the keychains turned out below using iridescent acrylic from Custom Made Better. I think the acrylic choice takes these to an entirely new level of fun. Also, I promise this is the last keychain design I’ll share for a bit. I have some fun holiday theme designs coming soon.

This vintage keychain shape can be cut from acrylic, leather, wood or another material of your choice. Change up the wording or keep the wording I have.

How to Make the Vintage Keychain

Start by downloading the .ZIP file at the bottom of this post.
Import the design into your laser machine software (I import SVG files into lightburn for my BOSS laser, this may be different depending on your software)
Double check that the design is the size you want it to be.
Since I engraved on the backside, keeping the front of the keychain completely flat, I had to mirror the text.
Cut and engrave your acrylic with the back side facing up.
Peel the protective layer from both sides of the acrylic, wipe clean and add your keyring.

Here is the backside of the keychains after I engraved and cut them out, but before I peeled off the protective layer.

Once I peeled off the protective layer from both sides, I flipped it over and got instant satisfaction with how sharp the design looks.

Laser Acrylic FAQs

What type of materials would you use to make keychains with a laser machine?

I use 1/8″ or 3mm thick materials for keychains. If you are layering colors you could even use 1/16″ acrylics.

Where do you purchase your laser materials from?

The three places I order my acrylic from are Houston Acrylic, Custom Made Better and the shop MODFYbuild on ETSY. I’ve been ordering from all three of these places for almost 5 years. All of them ship quickly and I’ve never had ANY issues.

Where do you purchase the hardware for keychains?

I purchase from local craft stores or Amazon. Since I love a good gold key ring, I usually purchase the lobster clasp keychains or flat gold key rings.
