The boys finished their last days of school last Thursday so today is the first day of Summer break where it actually sinks in. It is a Monday morning but I’m not up early trying to shake kids awake or getting their reluctant little bodies dressed for school. Instead my husband and I are thinking about how we are going to muster up the patience to deal with our silly energetic boys 24/7 for the next ten weeks. We have lots of outdoor activities planned to wear their little butts out. We will be lathering on the Banana Boat Sunscreen and swimming, taking trips to the park, fishing and building sandcastles at the beach.

Last night at dinner we all talked with Wyatt and Mason about things we wanted to put on our Summer Bucket List this year. The boys dream big – they want to have picnics at the park, go to a theme park and stay at a hotel with a waterslide. I’m not sure our budget will allow for theme parks or hotels but we told them we will try our hardest and they can pitch in their chore money.

Since we live in Florida we have already been doing a lot of summertime activities like boogie boarding at the beach, swimming at the pool, making frequent stops at the splash pad park and fishing at local parks. This past weekend it was in the 90s and playing in the sprinkler seemed like the only way to cool off!

A few weeks ago I took a trip to Walmart and stocked our swim bag with all the summer essentials so we would be ready for summer fun – towels, new swimming suits, a few pool toys and Banana Boat Sunscreen! With all of the time we spend outdoors in the summer months we go through lots of sunscreen so I grabbed one for everybody. The Banana Boat Kids spray lotion is perfect for my impatient kids who just want to GET IN THE WATER ALREADY. My husband prefers the Banana Boat for Men because it doesn’t have a fruity girl smell and I like the the Protect and Hydrate lotion for myself! We will keep the swim bag stocked and ready by the back door all summer long.

Banana Boat also carries Sport SPF 50 Clear Spray, Protect & Hydrate 50 Spray and Men’s SPF 50 Lotion.

About 12 miles from our house is a splash pad park located right on the beach. It is my favorite place to take the kids because we can swim at the beach, play on the playground or splash at the splash pad all in the same afternoon. The complex is only a few years old and they have showers so you don’t track all the sand into your car when you leave (SCORE!). PLUS – after a day at the park the kids either take really good naps or fall asleep early (DOUBLE SCORE!). You better believe I am making sure splash pad park visits are added to the bucket list!

Right now on the Banana Boat Facebook page they are having a Wheel of Fun Contest where you can win some great prizes such as, a trip to Sea World, Disney World/Land or Six Flags amusement park. You could even win an instant $100 Walmart giftcard! I bet that would buy lots of summer fun and sunscreen!

The picture above was from our trip to the splash pad park a few weeks ago. This is the last picture we have as a family of five! (PS – after this trip to the park two out of three kids were snoozing on the drive home!)

Enjoy,

Looks like you are having an awesome summer so far – I love taking my son to the local splash pad as well! #client
