Hey there Poofy Cheeks readers!!  My name is Jenn and I blog over at Clean and Scentsible.  I LOVE Halloween and I am super excited to be over here today as part of Kelsey’s ‘31 Days of Halloween’ series.  Today I will be sharing a really quick and easy {but oh so cute!} treat container with you.  I have seen a few varieties of these toilet paper roll pillow boxes on Pinterest and they are SO easily adapted to any occasion.  Here is my spooky Halloween version!

Halloween Pillow Boxes

MATERIALS

  • toilet paper rolls
  • black ink
  • scrapbook paper {My paper is from Echo Park}
  • stickers or other embellishments {Mine are cut from the Echo Park paper}
  • bakers twine, embroidery thread or other thin ribbon
  • double sided tape and/or glue
  • candy or chocolate of your choice!
TO DO
  • Track down some empty toilet paper rolls.  Fold down the ends of the roll into a semi-circle and pinch to define the fold.
Halloween Pillow Boxes
  • Using black ink, ink along the edges of the toilet paper roll and randomly over the surface.  Cut twine or thin ribbon so that it will wrap around the roll and tie.
Halloween Pillow Boxes
  • Cut some scrapbook paper to fit around your roll.  Adhere the ends together with double sided tape.  Add a sticker or other embellishment to the front if you would like.
  • I always like the “little touches” so I added a little ghost tag to the baker’s twine.

  • Now just fill with CANDY!!!
As a side note, when I was first forming the boxes, I thought they looked a little like an owl {and I love owls!}.  So… I went with it and came up with this guy.

Love him!!! I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and have fun coming up with some designs of your own.  I would love it if you popped over to Clean and Scentsible to visit me sometime.  I am a decorating, organizing, and crafting addict and enjoy sharing all of my ideas with you!  I am just wrapping up my Ghostly Gathering and have lots of other fun Halloween ideas {including a guest post from the lovely Kelsey!} Thank-you so much for having me!
