Listen up, I am going to be the big 3-0 this year! I know 2017 is going to rock because I want the year I turn 30 to be simply unforgettable. I always looked at people making a big deal out of 30, 40 and 50 as a little annoying. It is a number, an age and another year older I would think to myself. Here I am sitting on turning 30 in about six months and it has hit me. I can’t help but think about all the things I wanted for myself by 30 and feel mixed emotions. There are things I thought I would have or be doing by now that I am not. However there are things I am doing and I do HAVE I never imagined and those things have made all the difference. I’m not dwelling on the what haves or what ifs because I don’t have time for that. I have an amazing husband and four kids I love more than I knew I could and that alone is all I need.

With that being said one thing I want for 30 is a body that I love. A body that I am taking care of. I want to give it good food, lots of water, TLC and exercise. I know I am not going to have a six pack or resemble a Victoria Secret model but I want to love every curve and dimple knowing I am giving my body everything I can. There was a time back when I was in High School and I would cut pictures out of Cosmo and tape them to my bedroom wall. All I wanted to be thin and toned. I wanted to be all of those girls. Newsflash I look back at pictures of myself in High School and I was thin and toned (not to mention I hope my daughter never does this!) Where was my confidence? Am I alone here!?

I am in love with short workouts I can do at home. I don’t have extra time to go to the gym. Heck by the time I get off work and get kids from daycare I hardly have time to get dinner, baths, homework and lunches packed before bed time. I also don’t have a bunch of extra money to throw at exercise equipment so HIIT workouts and short no-equipment needed exercise routines are my jam. The only equipment I invested in last month (and in the past few years!!!) are a jump rope and resistance bands and I must say they were under $30 and super effective for toning.

Over the past few years my husband and I have tried Whole30 (a few times) and worked to find what is healthy and good for our bodies. We found what worked, got in a routine, felt better, reached our goals and then we fell out of the routine and back to our old ways. This year we both want to change our normal. We want our normal to be a lifestyle change of better foods and activity ALL THE TIME.  Also we want the change for ourselves and for our children. We want to get outside and get active together! I’m putting it out there so now I have to be accountable. I have been doing a no-equipment needed exercise routines 3-4 times a week.
