Paper Pinwheel Cut File-Party Decorations

I’m sharing a paper pinwheel cut file and showing how they can go with virtually any party theme.

I used to go ALL OUT for celebrations. I lived for baby showers and birthday parties. I would make themed food, personalized decorations, shirts and the whole shebang. Do that four times a year and a girl can get tired, so now I keep it a bit easier.

I’m joining with my #TeamCreativeCraft friends so scroll all the way to the bottom to see what Party crafts and DIYs they are sharing too!

Paper Pinwheel Supplies:

  • Cardstock
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hot Glue Sticks
  • Center Decor (buttons or push pins work great!)
  • Popsicle Sticks (or paper straws, toothpicks, etc)
  • Silhouette Machine (or Cricut, or your preffered cutting machine)

Making the Paper Pinwheels:

PSA: These pinwheels don’t actually turn. They are stationary but can be used to make cake toppers, banners or placed around for that extra pop of color. See how I used pinwheels for my Pinwheels and Pearls themed baby shower (9+ years ago!)

First: Download the Pinwheel Cut File

Pinwheel Cut File

  • Once you download the cut file open it in your cutting machine software and size the design to your desired size. I used Silhouette Studio to cut mine with my Silhouette Cameo.
  • Using a hot glue gun, fold over every other corner and glue to the middle.
  • Once all the corners are folded in and glued cover the center with a button, pin or other decoration.
  • Now hot glue a stick to the back or use clothespins to clip them into a string. So many possibilities! Banners, cake toppers or treat bag toppers.
