Are you looking for something easy, filling, and compliment worthy to feed a crowd on game day? I have you covered with my easy jambalaya recipe. One year when the Saints were in the Super Bowl my mom quite fittingly made jambalaya and it became a tradition for her to make it every Super Bowl Sunday after that. My recipe is a little different because I needed something easier than her version but it is just as good! (I like recipes that dirty the least amount of dishes and require the least amount of work!)
One Pot Jambalaya Ingredients:
- 1 lb. smo1ked sausage (cut into thin slices)
- 1 large onion (diced)
- 1 green pepper (diced)
- 1 tbl. olive oil
- 4 cups cooked chicken (chopped)
- 2 (10.5 ounce) cans of condensed french onion soup
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can of chicken broth
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can of beef broth
- 2-3 tsp. creole seasoning
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 3 cups long grain white rice
- Hot sauce for garnish
Directions:
- In an oven safe stock pot combine smoked sausage, onion, pepper and olive oil. Cook on medium/high heat until the sausage starts to brown and the onion and pepper begin to become tender.
- Add chicken, soup, chicken and beef broth, creole seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper and rice. Stir.
- Place in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove and serve
I use Tony’s Creole seasoning which you can find at most grocery stores in the seasoning isle. Enjoy,
