Before Christmas I stocked up on Styrofoam trees from the Dollar Tree. I’m not sure if they were a seasonal item or not because they were in the floral/candle isle. With shop orders, our new baby, and holiday hustle and bustle I didn’t get to use all of them. I found them again the other day and decided to come up with fun ways to use them for a Valentine’s day vignette. The first tree got a washi tape makeover – Cupid style! (Similar to the Christmas washi tape tree I made.) To make your own you will need the following supplies:
- Styrofoam tree
- Washi Tape
- Paper Straw
- Red Cardstock
- Scissors
- Exacto knife
- Sharpened pencil
How to make your own: The first thing you need to do is take a sharpened pencil (I would use one sharper than I did!) and gently push it through the tree. Remove the pencil and then stick a paper straw through the hole you made. Start covering your tree in washi tape strips. Use scissors to cute out the shapes for your arrow and attach them. I used washi to attach the arrow and cut a slit in the straw with my exacto to slide the ‘feather’ part of the arrow into. To finish it off I added a red button to the top of the tree since it has that odd flat top. I have a few more things to finish before I show you the final vignette but I can’t wait to share it! I party HEREEnjoy,
