Garden Update

It is crazy to think that just a little over three months ago I was planting seeds in my garden, and today I am picking herbs and veggies for my family. Every time I harvest something from our garden I get such a rewarding feeling. By no means is a garden cheap, especially if it is your first one, but it is all worth it in the end! For the past week or two I have used something from my garden on a daily basis. I have made salsa, garlic green beans, BLT sandwiches, vinegar cucumber salad, baked jalapeno poppers, dill potatoes, rosemary potatoes, and more! DSC_2699 I can’t say that it has been a walk in the park – this gardening stuff can be tough. A few weeks ago I was watering the garden every night because we were in a drought, I found that pickle worms had invaded my cucumbers, and before that rabbits ate my green beans and corn. I put the fence back up around the corn and green beans and planted round #2. My green beans were eaten again, but the corn is still there. This was the garden on March 3rd… DSC_0224 This is the garden now…. DSC_2690 DSC_2690_explaine DSC_2697 DSC_2698 We are growing three types of tomatoes; beefsteak, roma, and grape tomatoes. I planted them and now I have an endless supply. They are so flavorful and I love using them in salsa and on roasted potatoes. I cut some off and then it just grows back!
