Hey yall! I am so excited to be guest posting for Kelsey today! Kelsey and I met through blogging and can I just tell you guys how awesome she is? She is super awesome. Like above & beyond awesome. Clearly, I like her. 🙂 One of my favorite things about her is her “Let’s Do Lunch” link up party she just started. I love that she just shows us the real every day Kelsey! 🙂 Do you like to read?? Today i want to tell you about a couple of books I’ve been reading lately! 🙂 I have always been an avid reader. Even in middle school when reading was for nerds and teacher’s pets i was secretly reading books like the secret garden or the seeing summer in my room until wee hours of the morning. Reading has always been a great escape for me. I wanted to share with you guys what I have been reading lately and recommend a couple of books.
First of all, for fun I have been reading the outlander series by diana gabaldon. If you have read my blog in the past this will not come as a surprise to you as I have mentioned it no less than 5 times per month in the last year. That is an exaggeration but I could talk about this series for days and days and never run out of things to say. The book starts in post world war II England where Claire, a field nurse for the British forces, and her husband, Frank, enjoy a second honeymoon in Scotland after the war is over. While exploring one day, Claire falls between two stones and is transported back 200 years. This foray into the 1700s brings heartache, fear, surprises and love to this time traveler. She meets a man named Jamie Fraser and marries him to save both their lives. Then she falls in love with him. The seven (soon to be eight) book series chronicles their time together and apart. Diana Gabaldon is a pure genius. Her knowledge of medicine and her ability to develop her characters into real, living people that you mourn for and celebrate with is unmatched. I’m not going to lie – the books are long and seriously involved. You do have to pay attention. But i promise if you start book one, outlander, you will love being wrapped up in a love story that spans centuries. in one word, it is amazing. For my devotional i have been reading the one year devotions for women on the go. Yall. This book is awesome. I am finding myself looking forward each night to read it and glean the little tidbit of knowledge it has for me every night. It is focused toward business women who use little snippets of their day to squeeze in a devotional. They are brief, relevant and to the point. and most importantly, I get something out of it every day that I can use for my blog + business. I have really loved it so far and can’t wait to get further into it! 🙂 I highly recommend this devotional to anyone who needs a little business advice here and there or wants a quick devotional to start their day with. What books have you been reading lately? ***** Skye writes the blog Neathering our Fest . She is a momma to two cute furballs! This girl is the real deal – super sweet, grounded, and on her blog she shares her life. I encourage you to take a few minutes and see what she is all about! This year her word is Journey.
