Halloween Countdown Treat Bags

IMG_9927 halloween_button It is day two of 31 Days of Halloween and I have another countdown. I love this countdown, because it will be a great one to adapt for Christmas too! To make the bags you will need:

  • Kraft bags (I bought mine from cutetape.com – LOVE THEM!)
  • Acrylic Paint – Orange & Black
  • Sponge Brush
  • Number Stencils (I found Martha Stewart stencils at Michaels)

IMG_8735 Gather your supplies! I find it is best to work on a surface covered in newspaper so that I don’t make a mess. IMG_8736 Get your stencils ready and figure out your paint pattern. I did all even numbers in orange paint and all odd numbers in black paint. IMG_8737 **I like to put my paint in paper or plastic bowls so that I don’t have to worry about cleaning up any messes at the end. Just toss in the trash! IMG_8738 As for the sponge brush – I’m sure you have seen those fancy stencil paint daubers. I think they are a waste of money when you can buy this $.50 wonder and just cut the tip to make it flat. Then I don’t feel so bad when I can’t clean all the paint out or get lazy and throw it out at the end. Now that we got the nitty gritty details out of the way… onto the bags we go! IMG_8740 Hold your stencil onto the bag and daub the sponge brush until you have paint throughout the stencil area. IMG_8741 Gently pull up the stencil and there you have it! One perfect number. With single digit numbers you would be done, but this is going to be a ‘20’, so you need to let the first number dry and then go back and do the ‘2’ in a few minutes. IMG_8752 IMG_8753 Once all your bags are finished and dry you can hang them up! IMG_9919 IMG_9921 IMG_9925 I’m off to hang the rest of the treat bags! Enjoy, image     Linking up here…
