It is day two of 31 Days of Halloween and I have another countdown. I love this countdown, because it will be a great one to adapt for Christmas too! To make the bags you will need:
- Kraft bags (I bought mine from cutetape.com – LOVE THEM!)
- Acrylic Paint – Orange & Black
- Sponge Brush
- Number Stencils (I found Martha Stewart stencils at Michaels)
Gather your supplies! I find it is best to work on a surface covered in newspaper so that I don’t make a mess. Get your stencils ready and figure out your paint pattern. I did all even numbers in orange paint and all odd numbers in black paint. **I like to put my paint in paper or plastic bowls so that I don’t have to worry about cleaning up any messes at the end. Just toss in the trash! As for the sponge brush – I’m sure you have seen those fancy stencil paint daubers. I think they are a waste of money when you can buy this $.50 wonder and just cut the tip to make it flat. Then I don’t feel so bad when I can’t clean all the paint out or get lazy and throw it out at the end. Now that we got the nitty gritty details out of the way… onto the bags we go! Hold your stencil onto the bag and daub the sponge brush until you have paint throughout the stencil area. Gently pull up the stencil and there you have it! One perfect number. With single digit numbers you would be done, but this is going to be a ‘20’, so you need to let the first number dry and then go back and do the ‘2’ in a few minutes. Once all your bags are finished and dry you can hang them up! I’m off to hang the rest of the treat bags! Enjoy, Linking up here…
