Bat Halloween Treat Bags

Inspired by this Bat Halloween party, I have been making a lot of bat décor around here lately! I was at Michael’s a few weeks ago and was looking for a bat stencil, but I just couldn’t find any. I came across a blank stencil sheet the next day at Wal-Mart and decided I would make my own!

Here is what you need to make your own stencil-

  • Stencil sheet
  • Sharpie
  • Exacto knife
  • Painters tape

Now here is where you might laugh. My printer was out of black ink and I couldn’t print and trace the design I wanted. So I thought on it – and I figured why not tape my stencil to the computer screen? I wouldn’t advise this because it probably isn’t a good idea to draw on your screen, but I traced lightly.
If your printer has ink in it – just print out the design you want, tape both the printed sheet and stencil sheet to a window (during the day! wink-wink) and trace.

Then use your exacto knife to cut along the lines you traced.

Now find something to stencil! I stenciled two things (so far). A reusable orange bag I found in the Michael’s $1 section, and some of the same brown kraft bags I used to make the Halloween treat bag countdown HERE.
