Reclaiming Our Bedroom with World Market & A Giveaway

Since our oldest was born our bedroom has become the catch all. When there is no room for something in other areas of the house it ends up in our bedroom. When I decorate for the holidays random mismatched items wind up in our room. If we have company coming over I just through things in there. A few months ago I decided that I wanted my bedroom back. With our third child on the way I knew that my husband and I needed our own space to escape to. When I was given the chance to spend $75 at World Market to add items from their Life of Pi section to my home I was pumped! The unique and bright items from that collection were just what our bedroom needed. The embroidery, dark woods, colors, patterns and designs make this collection one of my favorites. {If you haven’t seen the movie Life of Pi yet it is the story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper’s son, who survives a disaster at sea and is thrown into an epic journey. While adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with another a fearsome Bengal tiger. The movie opened in theaters November 21, 2012.} While I was shopping I picked up all of these items. See what I mean about the unique patterns and designs? I removed what was once some mismatched décor on our bookshelf and replaced it with a few of the items I picked up during my shopping trip. The candle scent is china pear and it is THE BOMB! I ended up making a return trip to purchase more for the rest of our house because the scent is so amazing. As for the top of our dresser – I added the frames and bright garland to the few décor items we already had to give it more of an eclectic and finished look. I am absolutely in love with the pattern on the aqua blue frame. When I walk into our room now it has a more grown up and adult feel to it. My husband has even made comments about how much more he likes the look and feel of our bedroom so I will chalk this one up to a complete success.
