Get those cutting machines out! I’m sharing two fun pineapple cut file freebies today that are compatible with Cricut and Silhouette cutting machines. I always feel like Memorial Day marks the official start of summer.
My kids are attending their last day of school today and tomorrow begins the big summer free for all. Nothing says summer like fun in the sun, tropical fruits, vacations and bright colors. Speaking of summer I have LOTS of summer themed cut files coming your way all month long. Ask and you shall receive.
A few weeks ago I received the Sunny Tropics adhesive vinyl pack from Expression Vinyl and set out to create a few items that screamed summer with it. I designed two pineapple cut files and then pulled out my Silhouette Cameo. I used my Cameo to cut the pineapples on adhesive vinyl from the pack. If you are more of a heat transfer vinyl user they have a similar HTV Sunny Tropics Pack too.

Applying the Pineapple Cut File with Adhesive Vinyl
To apply the adhesive vinyl you will need to cut, weed and apply to your surface using transfer tape. I have a picture tutorial on using transfer tape that newbies might find very helpful.
One project combined the pineapple print and green foil adhesive vinyls. I applied them to a scrap piece of wood I painted cream. Then I applied the metalized brushed gold chrome adhesive vinyl pineapple to a clear and black striped acrylic clipboard from Hobby Lobby. It was an afterthought but once I saw the clipboard in their checkout line I knew it needed to come home with me. It was the perfect blend of preppy and organized.
See the sheen of the polished metal green and all of the colors in the striped pineapple print? I love how this one came together. Honestly I love how both projects turned out. I think I need a pineapple décor theme around my house now.
