I’m back with another really easy side dish which would go perfect on your Thanksgiving menu. I know there is the traditional green bean casserole but my kids and I aren’t big fans of green beans. I will eat them but I don’t love them. If it’s green and not broccoli my kids probably won’t eat it without some sort of whining and crying.

When I plan dinners I have an ‘eat what I make or don’t eat at all rule’ because I’m not about to spend a bunch of time making a meal for people to complain. If they don’t like something I cook then we make them try a bite before they can leave the table. However on Thanksgiving I would prefer it to be a smooth enjoyable meal without any whining or crying involved. On holidays I plan to make things everyone likes and I don’t mind making a few extra dishes to give people other options when filling their plate.

Broccoli Casserole side dish recipe - A great Thanksgiving side dish!

I mentioned earlier this week that we will be making our rounds for Thanksgiving this year so I’m picking a few easy and affordable dishes to take to each place. This broccoli casserole, honey mustard glazed brussel sprouts and pineapple walnut cool whip salad are all being made in my kitchen on Thanksgiving.

My favorite part about green bean casserole and this broccoli casserole are the French friend onions! They make the dish in my opinion. I have been known to add extra!

Cheddar Broccoli Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
1 lb steam-in-the-bag broccoli

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

14 ounce condensed cheddar soup

1 cup French fried onions
Instructions
Steam broccoli according to package directions.

Pour steamed broccoli into a casserole dish and stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar and condensed cream of cheddar soup. Top with French fried onions.

Bake for 25-30 minutes.
