This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bahama Breeze for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you know that February 22nd (today) is National Margarita Day? I don’t know about you but it sounds like cause for celebration to me! I am sharing a recipe for a Peach Tea Orange-Berry Frozen Margarita today in honor of National Margarita Day AND thanks to Bahama Breeze I am hosting a $100 Bahama Breeze Giftcard Giveaway! Now THAT is reason to celebrate my friends!
My favorite drink is Peach Tea so incorporating it into a margarita seemed quite fitting. When I came up with this margarita I knew I wanted it to be a frozen version because it can get so hot here in Florida and we often need a cold drink to cool down. A few days ago we had our coldest day of winter so far this year. Lows were in the high 20s and highs were in the low 50s with high winds. Want to know something else funny? Today is supposed to be a high of 79 – come on Florida figure it out! Coats one day and tank tops the next.

I guess it doesn’t really matter what the weather is because any day is a good day for a margarita – are ya’ with me? Speaking of margaritas have you been to Bahama Breeze before? My brother used to work there and my whole family raves about it. They are kicking of Bahama Breeze Viva La Rita starting Sunday and it will run through Cinco de Mayo. The celebration is about celebrating their new margaritas in preparation for warmer weather. On a day like today I can cheers to that! My Florida wardrobe doesn’t offer much in the event of cold weather.
Now let’s talk salt or sugar for a minute. I am a sugar girl. I like my drinks sweet although I know traditionally margaritas have a salted rim. Do what you want but this orange zest and turbinado sugared rim is the way to go. If you are dead set on salt just replace the sugar for salt in my recipe below.

Peach Tea Orange-Berry Frozen Margarita Recipe
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup peach tea (I used Snapple brand because it is my favorite)
  • 1/2 cup of a good tequila
  • 2 cups of ice
  • 1 cup of frozen strawberries
  • 1 fresh orange
  • turbinado sugar
  • 1 fresh lime (optional, for garnish)
  • fresh strawberries (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Using a grater zest the orange and combine with turbinado sugar on a plate. Set aside.
  2. Cut the orange in half and squeeze juice from one half into the blender.
  3. Add peach tea, tequila, ice and strawberries into the blender with orange juice and blend until there are no more chunks of ice.
  4. Using the other half of the orange run it around the rim of your glass and then dip it into the turbinado sugar and orange zest to sugar your rim. Pour the margarita into the glass and garnish with fresh fruit as desired.

If you were wondering – this is what I will be sipping on Sunday. If you want to celebrate bust out your blender or head down to Bahama Breeze because I know they will be having a good ole’ time. If my husband didn’t have to work all day that is where I would be! A mom alone with her four kids celebrating National Margarita Day at Bahama Breeze is probably frowned upon. Oh I can see it now… Don’t worry though – I am making sure we get a date night there between Sunday and Cinco de Mayo because I am going to get my hands on one of their new speciality margaritas!

Now get your #VivaLaRita on and tell me what your favorite margarita is (on the rocks or frozen? salt or sugar rim?)

I love mango anything, so a mango frozen margarita is delicious! You can mix a frozen margarita, just as you do with a daquari, with a pina colada mix for an added punch! it's great! no salt and no sugar on the rims 🙂

I love anything coconut and pineapple. My favorite margarita is a mixture of the two flavors. The recipe is 1 (10-ounce) can pina colada frozen concentrate mixer, thawed
    10 ounces tequila
    5 ounces pineapple juice
    Juice from ½ lime
    7 cups ice
Garnish rim of glass with salt.
