We moved into our house nearly seven months ago and spent the first week painting the entire house. The walls were builder white and had scuffs, pen marks and random marks all over. After painting we were so burnt out that we didn’t take on much more. We just wanted to get our things moved in and enjoy what was left of the summer. Spring is on the way though, and every spring I find myself with a never ending list of things I want to accomplish around my home. This year I have things like laundry room revamp, living room décor, and dining room redo on the list. These are all BIG projects and since I partnered with GE and received coupons for GE light bulbs which I desperately needed for my living room I decided to take that project on first. (All opinions posted about my GE Lighting experience are my own.) The before pictures are from the day we got the keys to our house and the after were taken yesterday. Of course it has been painted and cleaned up since we moved our things in, but I just finished hanging and decorating the photo ledges, purchasing some new accent pillows, and changing out the lighting. Replacing the lighting might sound odd if the lights before were working but one thing that kept us from all hanging out together in the living room in the evenings was the lighting. The old light bulbs are on the left and the new ones are on the right. It is sort of hard to tell just how big of a difference the GE Reveal light bulbs make, but before we replaced the bulbs I couldn’t even read in the living room. It was so bad that when I tried to make hair ties on the couch I couldn’t tell what the colors were! After a trip to Walmart to pick up a few last minute things and new bulbs the room finally came together! The boys and my husband often spend the evenings watching a show or playing video games together in the living room while I would work on orders for my shop in the bedroom. Since we have replaced the bulbs I have been able to hang out and work on orders from the couch while we all laugh and enjoy the extra family time! I love our living room now! I just showed my husband the before and after pictures together and he was in shock at the drastic transformations we were able to make just by changing a few things. We didn’t have to do any major construction or buy any new furniture. As a matter of fact most of the decorations in our living room were thrifted, purchased on clearance or diy projects! Stop by tomorrow to see all of the details about our redo.Enjoy,

Hi, I'm just visiting your blog for the first time. I saw a link on pinterest. I definitely think your makeover looks great!!! This is just in my opinion...I love the color of that chest and I think you should match it in paint color (or a light blue like some of your picture frames) to put on the wall with the sliding glass doors and continue it on the top part of the wall behind the couch - I think it would make that area pop!

I love your transformation. The dresser, the trunk, the curtains on the sliding glass doors! And it it really does amaze me the difference a light bulb can make with coloring.

You really can see such a difference in the lighting now. The light is so much whiter and brighter. I love that you're able to spend more family time together in the living room!
