Today is the last day of the Food & Wine festival at Epcot. Last weekend we packed up the boys and headed to Disney for the weekend! The food and wine festival is something Mike and I try to do every year, but we weren’t able to make it the last few years for one reason or another. Since we had the kids we didn’t do much wine tasting, but we did get to try so many different foods! If you have never been – you should definitely try to plan your next Disney trip around the festival! Epcot can seem rather boring throughout most of the year, but not when there are food pit stops all along the way! Disney sets up different ‘countries’ all around the Showcase of the World area in Epcot and offers foods, wines, desserts, and more from each region. They keep the prices reasonable (though it can still add up if your making frequent pit stops!) So here is what we ate and drank! Beef Empanadas from Argentina. My husbands ‘must get’ of the day!! Kielbasa and Potato Pierogies with caramelized onions at the Poland stop! A HUGE Lobster Claw with drawn butter in – where else – ‘Boston’! From the Hops and Barley stand. Lindeman’s “Bin 90” Moscato at Australia (the only glass of wine!) Frozen Dragon Berry Colada from the Caribbean stand. Spicy Tuna Roll and California Roll from Japan. Oh boy do we LOVE sushi!! (I never ever ever thought I would be saying that!!!) Kefta Pocket from Morocco. Belgium Waffle from Belgium. I must say that this waffle was extraordinary with the berry compote and whip cream! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. In Ireland Mike got the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman’s Pie. and I got the Chocolate Lava cake with Baileys Ganache. Sorry – there were not any leftovers! Yes those are tears – from a three year old who had to have the last bite!! In Greece I ordered the Greek cheese with honey and pistachios. Different but good. Mike ordered Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki. Last, but not least was the Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup from Canada. You better make it a point to hit up the Epcot Food and Wine festival if you are visiting Disney World in October or early November! Totally worth it!! Enjoy,
