Halloween is a family favorite holiday. I’m not sure if it is because you get to dress up in costumes, eat candy, be completely silly or all of the spooky surprises. As a mom I love that it is something fun to look forward and focus on soon after the daunting school year begins. Our kids have been back to school for a month and I am already feeling drained. Letting the fun of Halloween consume me has been a release from the normal day to day routine. Taking time to put together Halloween crafts is a stress reliever for me. We recently put together a Halloween BOO Kit.
I crafted a Mummy Halloween BOO Kit to start a BOO it Forward movement at work. I work in an office with about 40 other employees and I thought it would be fun to sneak the BOO Kit around from desk to desk. Who wouldn’t be completely surprised by having the BOO Kit of treats show up on their desk?!

Step 1- Gather all supplies and cut white tissue paper into strips. The strips don’t have to be perfect.
Step 2- Cover the box with glue and then apply tissue paper over the top with each piece being slightly angled as if wrapped up like a mummy. Repeat with all four sides of the box.
Step 3- Once the tissue paper is applied cut a shape to fit both goggle eyes on from the black treat bag. Glue the black treat bag piece and then the eyeballs onto the box. Allow to completely dry.
Step 4 – Once the glue is dried apply any other embellishments you would like and tie the BOO Kit printable tag and instructions onto the box. Fill it with goodies and BOO it Forward.
I filled my BOO box with A&W Root Beer Monster Cans (the 7.5 ounce size ones), fun sized SNICKERS®, M&M’S® , TWIX® , Starburst® , Skittles® and Life Savers® . I picked all of the candies, soda and all of the American Greetings® mummy box supplies up at Walmart.
Once you finish your own BOO box, fill it up and deliver it secretly without anyone seeing and make sure to attach the instructions so the next person will know how to keep the BOO Kit going! I’m dropping my mummy box to a co-workers desk this week so follow me on Instagram to see how it goes – I am super excited to start the workplace BOO’ing.
Now I want to know who is going to put together a BOO Kit!? We did something similar around Valentine’s Day and it was a lot of fun to watch the package get sent around town.
