Salvaged Wood ‘EAT’ Sign Tutorial

Salvaged Wood EAT Sign by Poofy Cheeks Our living room was in need of a focal point/statement piece. Last weekend I was on a creative painting kick and brainstormed up this lovely little sign using more of the wood from the bookshelf I used to make the boys’ ABC bedroom decor. I nailed the cross pieces into the four boards and made sure that they were straight so that I could use them to hang it when I wad done. Salvaged Wood EAT Sign by Poofy Cheeks To protect the wood from getting paint on it where I wanted to the letters to be I taped them off with blue painter’s tape. Salvaged Wood EAT Sign by Poofy Cheeks I pulled out my trusty Martha Stewart paint in my favorite aqua blue color and got to work using a cheapy foam brush that came with a pack of brushes I bought for the boys. I didn’t want to use a good paint brush because the point was for this sign to look rustic. The foam brush was perfect because it didn’t get into every crack and crevice. I even let the boys help because there was no way to really mess this up.
